Indian classical music has been around for over 6,000 years, and is found to be enjoyed by peoples from around the world. It originates from sacred Vedic scriptures where chants developed a system of musical notes, and is closely connected to nature by taking inspiration from the seasons and times of day. These created 'Ragas' or musical moods and time cycles or 'Taals'. Ragas are the melodic framework which forms the structure of the music, and Taals refer to the rhythmic structure or beat which measures the musical time.  Indian classical music is unique in its own way because of how it utilizes different musical elements, such as melody and rhythm. The melody of the music is the one that leads, specifically the raga, which mirrors human emotion and the natural world. Classical performances can feel like one is in meditation or on an emotional journey.   Introduction/History The earliest form of EDM, or Electronic Dance Music, came from the late 1970's when it was called disco music at the time. It was aimed to move crowds in dance floors using drum machines and electronic music for synth. In the 1980's was the post-disco era where synth music or synthpop was developed along with house and electronic music. Music during this era were beginning to be produced by the mainstream music industry in Europe while being more advanced and with technological advancements such as MIDI, which allowed electronic music to be more accessible and transformative by anyone with musical experience and a computer. If you're someone like me who's watched countless short videos on YouTube, then you've most likely heard this classical piece playing in the background in one of them. I'm talking about Nocturne in E Flat Major  written and composed by Frederic Chopin. This song was published in 1832 during the Romantic period of music in the city of Paris, and is considered Chopin's most famous piece out of the 21 Nocturnes. Just hearing the first few notes would make most people recognize what is being played. I remember back in my childhood being so fond of Minecraft that it would be one of the best feelings of my life when my cousin booted up the Xbox 360 console. In a world full of digitalized cubes that gave players endless imagination and creativity, there were soundtracks that blended in perfectly in the background to create an immersive atmosphere. There were a few songs that stood out to me so much that I taught myself how to play them on the piano, one of them being "Sweden", which gives me a nostalgic feeling from my childhood.  Hi, my name is Eugene. I was born in Los Angeles, California, but didn't stay for long until moving to Alaska and being raised in Anchorage.
